What you'll do...
Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Food Equipment, is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on food equipment and related facilities. This role requires diagnosing issues, executing repairs using multiple craft skills, and managing maintenance documentation and parts procurement. The technician ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supporting operational continuity through timely response to emergencies and equipment malfunctions. Collaboration with contractors and internal teams is essential to maintain quality and safety standards. About the team:
The Facility Services team ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across Walmart locations. They install, inspect, and repair equipment to meet operational and regulatory standards while implementing preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Collaborating with management and partners, the team coordinates service calls and supports critical business needs. Team members follow safety protocols and use specialized tools to maintain system performance. Their commitment fosters a safe, efficient environment that supports Walmart’s operational goals and enhances overall customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment, facilities, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, and test equipment to diagnose issues and determine replacement needs.
- Utilize multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry to complete repairs.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts ordering, and documentation accurately.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies throughout all tasks.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on food equipment and facility systems.
- Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery, and powered equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Experience managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and coordinating with contractors.
- Effective documentation and reporting skills for maintenance activities and cost tracking.
- Ability to respond promptly to emergency calls and participate in on-call rotations.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
