Role summary:The Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders and coordinating with contractors. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and company standards, operating heavy machinery, and maintaining company vehicles. The technician supports continuous improvement by identifying repair needs, recommending replacements, and collaborating with teams to meet business priorities, all while upholding Walmart’s values and commitment to quality and integrity.
About the team:
The Facility Services HVAC-Refrigeration team specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple locations. The team ensures adherence to safety and environmental standards while delivering reliable service. Members collaborate to troubleshoot technical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support operational efficiency. Utilizing digital tools for scheduling and resource management, the team contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Guided by experienced leaders, the team emphasizes skill development and effective communication to achieve business objectives and provide consistent support to customers and stakeholders.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment, documenting signs of wear and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Order parts, track inventory, submit warranty claims, and process maintenance invoices accurately.
- Identify hazards or equipment malfunctions and take corrective actions or escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with teams to improve processes, meet business needs, and support company policies and ethics.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures following established schedules and safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with certification requirements.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations to ensure quality and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities.
- Skilled in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, contractor coordination, and related documentation accurately.
- Competence in identifying repair needs, recommending replacements, and conducting price comparisons for parts and services.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
