Their office is located in Dublin 7 there is a remote or hybrid option available.
We are seeking an experienced and hands on Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a short-term contract basis. This role has arisen due to temporary team resourcing requirements and will provide critical support across the day-to-day accounting activities of our UK entity.
The successful candidate will take ownership of routine finance operations while also assisting with the review and clean up of historical accounting records and reconciliations. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who enjoys working independently and can quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the UK entity
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve historical accounting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Process journals and accruals where required
- Assist with reporting and analysis for management
- Support audits and information requests as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Collaborate with finance colleagues and key stakeholders across the business.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or relevant practical experience
- Strong experience in month-end accounting processes
- Proven expertise in balance sheet reconciliations and resolving historical accounting issues
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
