Overview
The Business Administration Manager establishes, leads, and optimizes Business Administration functions for Mobis South Carolina Electrified Powertrain (MSCe). This position provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership across Human Resources, General Affairs, Payroll Administration, Benefits Administration, Compliance, Facility Coordination, Vendor Management, and Business Support Operations.
The role supports site startup activities, workforce readiness, and organizational growth by implementing scalable processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering efficient administrative operations. The Business Administration Manager serves as a key partner to site leadership, headquarters, external service providers, and government agencies while supporting the successful development and operation of the MSCe facility. MOBIS Corporate Center America will be aiding in the hiring progress for this job position.
Responsibilities

Business Administration Leadership
- Lead and oversee Human Resources, General Affairs, EHS, and overall Business Administration operations in collaboration with Headquarters and the Mobis Corporate Center of America (MCCA).
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and business processes that support organizational growth and operational effectiveness.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Headquarters, MCCA, other Mobis entities, external vendors, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
Human Resources & Workforce Management
- Manage workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, employee development, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Support organizational development, employee engagement, and workforce readiness initiatives.
- Oversee HR systems, workforce reporting, and employee records.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, EHS regulations, and company policies.
General Affairs & Facility Operations
- Manage office administration, workplace services, facility coordination, company assets, and business travel programs.
- Coordinate vehicle administration, vendor management, and administrative support services.
- Oversee facility-related service providers and office operations.
Site Startup & Business Support
- Support site startup activities, facility readiness, and workforce ramp-up initiatives.
- Manage expatriate support and relocation programs.
- Support budget planning, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
AUTHORITY & SCOPE
This position is responsible for managing day-to-day Business Administration operations for MSCe, including Human Resources, General Affairs, Payroll Administration, Benefits Administration, Compliance, Facility Coordination, and Administrative Support activities.
The incumbent exercises independent judgment in the administration of policies, procedures, vendor relationships, employee matters, and operational processes within approved company guidelines. The position partners closely with site leadership, headquarters, external service providers, and government agencies to support business objectives and operational effectiveness.
Matters involving significant financial impact, legal risk, policy exceptions, or organizational changes are escalated to senior leadership as appropriate.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, this role leads and develops Business Administration team members, including Human Resources and Administrative staff, while overseeing external service providers and consultants. Responsible for delivering effective business support services, developing team capabilities, and supporting organizational growth and operational excellence.
Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Business Administration, Human Resources, General Affairs, or related operational leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple functional areas including Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Compliance, General Affairs, Facilities, and Vendor Management
- Experience supporting organizational growth, site startup activities, or operational expansion initiatives
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, labor regulations, and business administration practices (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA, etc.)
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic business environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and multiple priorities
- Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of payroll administration, employee benefits, compliance programs, and administrative operations
- Experience in vendor management, budgeting, cost control, and process improvement initiatives
- Ability to establish scalable business processes and administrative systems in a growing organization
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments
- Experience supporting greenfield, startup, or plant-launch operations
- Experience working within a global organization and matrix reporting structure
- Experience coordinating with headquarters, regional teams, external vendors, and government agencies
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, PMP, or similar professional certifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Working Conditions:
Office-based environment with frequent interaction across departments and regular presence on the shop floor to support workforce operations, administrative activities, facility coordination, EHS-related support, and site startup initiatives.
The incumbent may be required to temporarily work from an alternate Mobis location (Columbia, South Carolina) during the initial setup phase until the primary MSCe site (Blythewood, South Carolina) becomes fully operational.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for training, business meetings, benchmarking activities, and coordination with headquarters and other Mobis locations.
