Enrolled & Registered Nurses - Day Surgery

Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital

We are seeking experienced Casual Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join our Subiaco Day Surgery team.

Our ward is a 46-bed combined DOSA and Day Surgery Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patients in a wide range of surgical specialities.  These include Cardiology, Orthopaedic, ENT, Vascular, Gynaecology, Paediatric, Plastics and General Surgery.

In this role you will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures while ensuring that their experience aligns with the values that define our hospital. Your role will include patient assessment, pre-operative education and post-surgical care with a focus on fostering a supportive and safe environment for all patients.

Casual positions are available, offering flexibility while still allowing you to be part of a team committed to clinical excellence and outstanding patient care.

Shift Availability requirements

• Availability for a minimum of 2 shifts per week.
• Ability to cover shifts between 6:30am–2:30pm and 12:00pm–8:00pm.
• Shift lengths vary between 6, 8 and 10 hours.

• Deliver outstanding patient care, ensuring patients are treated with dignity and respect.
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal outcomes for patients.
• Be a patient advocate, ensuring that their rights are upheld and their voices are heard.
• Promote a welcoming, compassionate environment for patients and their families.
• Demonstrate excellence in clinical practice, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
• Assist in managing patient flow and provide pre and post-operative care.

You will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse. Previous experience in perioperative nursing or in a surgical/critical care environment is preferred but not essential.

To succeed you will have excellent communication skills with a genuine passion for providing exceptional care to patients. You will have a proactive and compassionate approach to care with an ability to work effectively within a team.

We can offer you

• RN Casual Hourly rate: $52.30 to $67.24 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
• EN Casual Hourly rate: $45.80 to $48.85 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
