To be an assistant for DJ Skills & Styles, student workers will need to assist with the setup and return of all DJ coffins and speakers at the start of the first section of class and the end of the last section of class. The attributes of a successful candidate are someone who is on time to work and somewhat knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the dj equipment. A successful candidate will impact the university in a positive way by showing professionalism to their fellow classmates in the form of efficiency and conduct.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A Student assistant in DJ Skills & Styles will be required to do the following:
Remove DJ coffins and speakers from their lockers and set them up on the classroom tables.
Plug the power from the classroom tables into the wall outlets.
Check the gear to ensure it is ready for class.
Report irregularities and damage of the DJ gear to the professor for repair and/or replacement.
Return DJ coffins and speakers to their lockers.
Unplug the power cables for the classroom tables and stow them out of the way of foot traffic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be a student assistant, an employee would need the following qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a student at The New School.
Ability to lift DJ coffins from lockers to classroom tables and back to lockers.
Understand basic signal routing to provide power to the dj stations and speakers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the dj gear and software (Serato) is encouraged, though not a strict requirement
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
HOURLY RATE
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
The DJ Skills & Styles Student Assistant will support the setup and breakdown of DJ coffins and speakers before and after class, ensure equipment is properly connected and functioning, and report any damage or issues to the professor. Candidates should be reliable, able to lift the equipment, and have a basic understanding of signal routing; familiarity with DJ equipment and Serato is preferred but not required.
