Role summary:The Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders and coordinating with contractors. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and company standards, operating heavy machinery, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The technician collaborates with team members to meet business needs, ensures compliance with policies, and contributes to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment aligned with Walmart’s mission and values.

What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair equipment while documenting signs of wear and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Order parts, track inventory, submit warranty claims, and process maintenance invoices accurately.
- Identify hazards, take corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with teams to meet business priorities and maintain compliance with company policies.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment in compliance with safety and certification requirements.
- Strong skills in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and coordinating with contractors to ensure quality and compliance with regulations.
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Effective documentation and reporting skills for maintenance activities, expenses, and warranty claims.
- Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
