Description
Established in 1981, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) https://www.ntu.edu.sg/eee is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the school is renowned for its high academic standards and research. It is one of the largest EEE schools in the world, with over 120 faculty members and more than 5,000 students, including around 2,000 graduate students.
We invite applications for the position of Senior Assistant Manager. The incumbent will play a key role in managing and supporting laboratory facilities within the School of EEE, with a particular focus on chiller systems, HVAC infrastructure, and research/teaching support. The role involves both operational and strategic responsibilities to ensure laboratories are functional, compliant, and aligned with NTU’s research and education goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and manage renovation and upgrade projects for laboratories and research areas, ensuring alignment with user needs, timelines and budgets.
Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to ensure all works comply with safety regulations and university standards.
Provide technical support for research and teaching activities, including facility setup, troubleshooting, and infrastructure readiness.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures, technical guidelines, and conduct root cause analysis for equipment issues.
Design and deliver training programmes to enhance staff capabilities and promote knowledge sharing.
Managing the structure facilities of all labs in EEE.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Strong technical knowledge of facility systems and laboratory utility infrastructure.
Experience supporting laboratory environments, equipment installation, or infrastructure retrofitting.
Strong project management and coordination skills. Proficient in AutoCAD and project management tools
Understanding of workplace safety, risk management, and preventive maintenance practices.
Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Self-motivated, responsible, and proactive in coordinating tasks across various internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrates leadership, initiative, and professionalism in managing both routine operations and ad-hoc project demands.
