What you'll do...
Role summary:This Senior Manager, Software Engineering position is responsible for leading the engineering strategy, development, modernization, and operational excellence of enterprise CRM applications that enable Customer Care associates to efficiently support customers across channels. The role leads the engineering team with end-to-end ownership of architecture, development, delivery, scalability, and reliability, while partnering with Product, Business, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable CRM capabilities. This leader drives engineering excellence and platform modernization while developing a high-performing team through strong technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring.

The Customer Care Technology team delivers outstanding service experiences to millions of Walmart customers and agents globally. Comprising software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts, the team advances GenAI technology within complex enterprise systems. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Corporate Tech &Services , it collaborates closely with product, business, and UX partners to drive measurable business outcomes. Focused on innovation, reliability, and scalability, the team leverages cloud-native architectures and AI agents to enhance operational excellence and customer impact, supporting Walmart’s mission to help customers save money and live better.
What you'll do:
- Lead engineering teams responsible for the development, modernization, and support of enterprise CRM applications.
- Own end-to-end technical delivery, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, reliability, and operations.
- Partner with Product, Business, UX, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable CRM capabilities and integrations.
- Drive CRM modernization and migration from legacy platforms while building reusable, extensible solutions.
- Ensure engineering excellence across quality, security, performance, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
- Manage technical dependencies, delivery risks, and operational issues while ensuring platform stability and scalability.
- Build and develop a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching and performance management.
- Drive technical strategy and roadmap execution while communicating priorities, progress, and risks to leadership.
What you'll bring:
- Strong technical judgment and experience with enterprise-scale architectures, distributed systems, APIs, cloud technologies, DevOps, and CI/CD, with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Strong people leadership with experience building, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with Product, Business, and Engineering leaders.
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder management, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical projects on time.
- Proficiency in project management, milestone tracking, and capacity planning to drive operational excellence.
- Experience with AI/GenAI-enabled CRM or Customer Care solutions is a plus.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
