Team Description
The CRO/Financial Risk/CCR/Measurement & Methodology (M&M) team is responsible for the quantitative measurement of Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) exposures across ING’s global trading activities. As such, CCR/M&M plays a vital role in ensuring accurate risk assessments and regulatory compliance for derivatives and securities financing transactions.
Specific Function
CCR/M&M is the model owner of the global CCR models and as such coordinates the development, implementation, and maintenance of the global CCR models and methodologies, in line with regulatory and internal frameworks. The team enables ING to monitor and manage CCR exposures effectively, ensuring the bank’s resilience against counterparty defaults. The CCR M&M team is composed of several squads, each squad owns its own set of CCR models. The current vacancy sits within the Monte Carlo & Economic Measurement – squad. This squad owns the Pillar II CCR Exposure at Default models as well as the Monte Carlo model used for Potential Future Exposure estimates. The Junior Customer Journey Expert will assist in these measurement and methodology activities, with responsibilities tailored to their level of experience and expertise.
Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Customer Journey Expert to join the CCR/M&M team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to grow within a dynamic and international risk management environment. The role involves supporting CCR measurement and methodology activities and involves collaborating with stakeholders across Risk, Financial Markets, IT, audit, and model validation. Tasks will be assigned based on the candidate’s knowledge and experience, with opportunities for development and learning.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support the monitoring of the performance of the CCR models.
- Support the set-up of data quality controls.
- Support the interpretation of internal and regulatory requirements.
- Write functional requirements aiming to automate internal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the testing of the implementation of functional requirements.
- Support the remediation of internal and regulatory model findings.
- Write Python code to facilitate requirements prior to their full automation.
- Support the priority setting of the squad.
Specific Knowledge and Experience
- University degree in econometrics, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python programming skills.
- Basic understanding of OTC derivatives pricing.
- Basic understanding of CCR concepts like netting and collateral.
- Effective communication skills for stakeholder interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English.
- Flexible and results-driven, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibilities over time.
Reporting Line and Classification
The successful candidate for the junior Customer Journey Expert role will report hierarchically to the Chapter Lead CCR/Measurement & Methodology within CCR department, based in Amsterdam.
