The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.
(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance.)
WestK Performing Arts strives to establish WestK as a leading performing arts destination in Asia and on the global stage, as well as a regional theatre hub that brings together diverse experiences from around the world. Led by the vision of amplifying Hong Kong’s creative potential and transcending boundaries in the performing arts, WestK Performing Arts curates an exciting and innovative annual programme that spans across dance, music, theatre, and Chinese opera in a range of artistic styles and traditions, presented through major arts and music festivals, as well as new, original commissions by local and international artists. Reporting to the Head, Marketing and Branding (Performing Arts), you will be responsible for:
1. Social Media Strategy & Campaign Planning
- Formulating and implementing social media strategies for Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas markets to drive the promotion, brand awareness, and audience development of WestK Performing Arts;
- Developing content calendars and integrated campaign plans to promote WestK Performing Arts programmes, hirer programmes, and the three performance venues (Xiqu Centre, Freespace, and WestK Performing Arts Centre);
- Leading social media promotional campaigns to maximise branding, ticket sales, engagement, and audience reach across target demographics.
2. Content Development & Channel Management
- Working with agency to create and adapt platform-native content, with a strong focus on timely short-form video content, e.g. Reels;
- Serving as the content and editorial gatekeeper for all WestK Performing Arts social channels, ensuring brand alignment, messaging consistency, and high production quality;
- Managing day-to-day operations and growth for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Xiaohongshu, and Threads;
- Collaborating with the district team and other business units to uncover storytelling opportunities and build synergies across venues and artistic programmes.
3. Partnerships, Trends & Social Analytics
- Building and managing influencer/KOL partnership strategies to extend reach and drive engagement within regional and global performing arts communities;
- Monitoring social media trends, algorithm updates, and audience behaviours to continuously innovate content strategies;
- Analysing channel metrics and campaign performance, translating social media insights into actionable strategies to improve audience conversion, engagement, and brand perception;
- Collaborating with internal teams or external agency partners to align organic social efforts with performance marketing goals.
4. Marketing and Branding:
- Support the implementation and execution of WestK Performing Arts’ branding, communications and marketing strategies that align with its ongoing development of the brand and business objectives.
- Plan and execute branding, marketing, communication, promotional campaigns involving WestK Performing Arts programmes, membership, venues and collaborations.
Performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by the Authority.
Requirements
- Recognised university degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or related disciplines;
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing (experience in arts, culture, entertainment, or venue marketing is highly desirable);
- Proven track record of managing multi-channel social portfolios, producing video content, and managing successful influencer/KOL campaigns;
- Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and social analytics tools;
- Strong project management skills, detail orientation, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
