About the role
The Master Data / PLM Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate product master data, Bills of Material (BOMs), and SAP production data throughout the product lifecycle. This role supports product releases, engineering changes, and new product introductions while ensuring data quality, governance compliance, and effective cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
This is your new role:
- Product Data & BOM Maintenance: Create, update, and maintain product data and Bills of Material (BOMs), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and correct versioning throughout the product lifecycle.
- Change & Release Support: Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and updates by coordinating release readiness, verifying completeness, performing impact analysis, and assisting with approvals and release activities in PLM or related systems.
- SAP Production Material Master: Create and maintain SAP Production Material Masters and Production Versions to support production planning and execution.
- Data Quality & Governance: Apply data standards, naming conventions, and governance rules to maintain high data quality and prevent issues that could impact internal processes or customer-facing systems.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and other teams to ensure timely data updates, smooth approvals, and clear communication across stakeholders.
- Process Improvement & System Adoption: Support continuous improvement initiatives by documenting and optimizing workflows, promoting best practices, delivering training, and driving adoption of PLM systems across teams.
This is you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT or a related field or similar education with multiple years experience on a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data management, product administration, engineering support, or operational coordination, depending on educational credentials.
- Experience with PLM, ERP, or supply chain systems (Enovia, SAP, o9, or similar) is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of master data management, data accuracy, and structured processes.
- Hands-on working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, organized way of working.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English (German will be an advantage)
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, supportive attitude with motivation to learn and grow in the role
