Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst / Coordinator Purchasing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Quality Control & Analysis
Job Type: Full-time Location: Edmonton, AB Reports to: Director of Operations Eden Textile is a trusted Canadian leader in textile manufacturing and supply, specializing in terry, linens, and premium amenities for hospitality and other industries. About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Purchasing & Supply Chain Analyst / Coordinator is a hands- on yet analytical role spanning purchasing, demand planning, logistics, and physical product quality control. You will take ownership of keeping product moving efficiently — managing purchasing and supplier relationships, owning the forecast and inventory levels, coordinating shipments, and ensuring incoming goods meet Eden's quality standards before they reach our customers. You will also turn sales, purchasing, and inventory data into decisions that improve service, cost, and margin. This role works closely with our Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams, and is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being close to the product.
Responsibilities and Duties
Purchasing & Procurement
• Own the purchase-order process end to end with domestic and overseas suppliers, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery.
• Lead pricing, terms, and delivery negotiations, and manage supplier agreements and contracts.
• Drive sourcing strategy — identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, and develop alternate sources to reduce cost and supply risk.
• Maintain accurate pricing, lead-time, and supplier data, and pursue cost-savings and margin- improvement opportunities.
• Manage supplier performance through scorecards and regular reviews, leading corrective action where needed.
Logistics & Shipping
• Manage inbound and outbound shipments with freight and logistics partners, including routing, scheduling, and cost optimization.
• Oversee shipping and import documentation and ensure compliance with customs and import requirements.
• Ensure products are packaged appropriately for shipping and storage. • Proactively identify and resolve delays, discrepancies, and other logistical issues, and improve
logistics processes over time.
Quality Control
• Inspect and test incoming product against Eden's specifications, and set the standards products are measured against.
• Identify defects, deviations, or damage, and lead corrective action with suppliers and internal teams.
• Manage third-party and factory-level quality control, including at overseas suppliers. • Develop and own quality control procedures, inspection processes, and product
specifications. • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and specification documentation.
Analysis, Demand Planning & Reporting
• Own demand planning and forecasting, using data and forecasting tools to set inventory targets and minimize stock-outs and overstock.
• Analyze sales, purchasing, and inventory data to identify trends and drive purchasing and inventory decisions.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs to track purchasing, inventory, supplier performance, and product movement, and present insights to leadership.
• Lead process-improvement and automation initiatives, including using AI tools to streamline reporting and workflows.
General
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to support product launches and day-to-day operations.
• Act as a subject-matter resource on purchasing and supply chain, and help guide and develop junior team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting across purchasing, inventory, and quality activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
• Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain / Logistics, Human Ecology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–7 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related analytical role.
• Proven track record negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships. • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn sales, purchasing, and inventory data into
actionable insights. • Experience with demand planning / forecasting and inventory management. • Advanced Excel skills and experience working within an ERP system. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple
priorities and deadlines. • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work cross-functionally
and present to leadership.
Considered an Asset
• Previous wholesale or bulk purchasing experience. • Textile, apparel, or soft-goods product knowledge. • Hands-on experience with demand planning tools (e.g., Netstock). • Experience using AI tools for process and report automation. • Data visualization / BI tools (e.g., Power BI). • Supply chain designation or coursework (e.g., SCMP, CSCP, CPIM), completed or in progress. • Experience with import/export documentation and freight coordination.
