Description
Purpose of the role
Support the Dubai finance function with day-to-day bookkeeping, invoicing, and reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records in compliance with UAE regulations.
Overall mission summary
- Act as the primary finance contact for local accounting firms, fiduciaries, tax advisors, and statutory auditors, ensuring the timely preparation, review, and filing of local financial statements and statutory reports in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Coordinate and maintain regular functional reporting with the Group Finance Department, ensuring timely submission of financial information, reporting packages, reconciliations, and supporting documentation required for group consolidation and management reporting.
- Ensure that the accounting records and financial statements accurately reflect the economic reality and underlying business activities of the subsidiary, in accordance with applicable accounting standards, Group accounting policies, and local statutory requirements.
- Review accounting transactions and balances to ensure completeness, accuracy, proper classification, and consistency between operational activities and financial reporting.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Group accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures within the Dubai entity.
- Assist in responding to requests from Group Finance, external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders by providing accurate and timely financial information.
Key responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice matching and payment runs
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end closing entries
- Support VAT filing and ensure compliance with UAE FTA requirements
- Prepare and file expense reports, employee reimbursements, and petty cash records
- Assist with supplier and customer account reconciliations
- Support the preparation of monthly management reports and schedules for the Finance Manager
- Maintain accurate filing of invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation
- Liaise with external auditors and providers during audit periods, providing requested documentation
- Assist with payroll-related accounting entries in coordination with HR
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance with ideally 2 years of professional experience.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good command of English (Arabic a plus)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
