Job Summary
The Area / Building Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of Facilities Management (FM) services within the assigned zone or building(s).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall performance and delivery of Facilities Management services for the assigned zone or building(s), ensuring compliance with contractual and service level requirements.
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned facilities, ensuring building systems, maintenance activities, and support services are delivered efficiently.
- Supervise and manage contractors, service providers, and on-site teams to ensure quality, safety, and operational excellence.
- Act as the primary liaison with clients, tenants, authorities, and internal stakeholders, addressing operational issues and maintaining strong customer relationships. Monitor operational budgets, maintenance expenditure, and contractor performance while implementing cost control measures.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), statutory regulations, fire safety requirements, and company policies through regular inspections and audits.
- Prepare operational reports, performance reviews, maintenance records, and recommendations for continuous improvement and asset enhancement.
Requirements
- Approved tertiary qualification or equivalent with at least five (5) years of relevant post-graduate experience in Projects & Facilities Management, Estate Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, or mixed-use facilities.
- Strong knowledge of facilities management operations, building systems, statutory compliance, and contractor management.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Facilities Management systems (CAFM/CMMS experience is an advantage).
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM) or other relevant FM/WSH certifications will be an added advantage.
