Senior Strategy Analyst, Goal Setting - Financial Advisor Services (FAS)

As the Senior Strategy Analyst for Goal Setting within our Financial Advisor Services (FAS) business, you will support the annual sales goal-setting process that helps translate business strategy into measurable expectations for our sales teams. 

Your work will help ensure goals are analytically grounded, consistently governed, and understood across all incentive compensated roles—supporting performance, accountability, and alignment with Vanguard’s mission. 

Responsibilities 

• Support Annual Goal Setting: Help develop annual sales goals ensuring targets are grounded in business priorities, historical performance, planned investments, and growth expectations. 

• Translate Strategy into Targets: Partner with Distribution Strategy, Finance, Sales leadership, and other internal partners to connect enterprise, divisional, and channel-level priorities to practical goals for advisor-facing teams. 

• Support Governance and Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, methodologies, decisions, and approvals to support transparency, consistency, and auditability throughout the goal-setting process. 

• Monitor Goal Attainment: Track progress against goals, identify trends or outliers, and produce insights that help leaders evaluate goal effectiveness and inform future goal-setting cycles. 

The Ideal Candidate 

• You are an analytical and detail-oriented strategy professional who understands how thoughtful goal setting can motivate performance, reinforce accountability, and align sales execution with business priorities. 

• You are comfortable working with data, partnering across functions, and translating complex analysis into clear recommendations that leaders can use to make informed decisions. 

You will bring: 

• 5+ years of experience in sales strategy, compensation goal setting, distribution planning, finance, analytics, or a related function within asset management, wealth management, or financial services. 

• Strong analytical skills with experience conducting forecasting analysis, and using performance data, business assumptions, and projections to develop recommendations. 

• Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative inputs into clear goal-setting narratives, options, and decision-ready materials. 

• Comfort operating in a matrixed environment and partnering effectively with Sales, Finance, HR, Legal, Data & Analytics, and Distribution Strategy teams. 

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to create accurate, executive-ready materials and explain goal-setting methodologies clearly.
