We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a successful and well-established organisation based in Kettering.

This is a key role within the Finance function, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and effective financial risk management.

The Role

You will take ownership of the full range of financial management activities, working closely with the wider business and managing a small finance team of two.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, payroll and credit control
• Managing and supporting a team of two finance professionals
• Coordinating annual budgets and financial forecasts, analysing and reporting variances
• Preparing and publishing accurate and timely monthly financial statements
• Managing the month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensuring strong financial controls and accuracy across all financial transactions and reporting
• Managing local and government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Developing and documenting financial processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
• Authorising payroll
• Leading and managing audit-related contracts and activities
• Producing and publishing commercial revenue and profit reporting
• Providing cover and support for other members of the Finance team when required

About You

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who is confident managing a broad finance function and comfortable taking ownership of financial reporting and controls.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience working as a Financial Controller
• A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience using Sage 200
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• A highly accurate and detail-focused approach
• The ability to work independently, manage your own workload and consistently meet deadlines
