IT Asset Management Specialist

Overview

MB2 Dental is a first-of-its-kind Dental Partnership Organization. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, MB2 Dental partners with dentists to help them preserve their professional autonomy while providing the resources and support needed to operate successful practices. MB2 Dental is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management Specialist to oversee and support the full lifecycle of the organization’s IT assets. This position maintains visibility across the hardware and software environment, manages inventory and procurement, coordinates asset deployment and retirement, supports software licensing and compliance, and manages vendor and contract activities to ensure technology resources support business needs.  Responsibilities

• Build and support a strong IT Asset Management (ITAM) function.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all hardware and software assets.
• Track assets throughout the full lifecycle, from procurement and deployment through upgrades, decommissioning, and retirement.
• Evaluate technology needs across the organization and coordinate the timely acquisition of hardware, software, and related equipment.
• Develop and maintain standards and policies for asset purchasing, maintenance, usage, and disposal.
• Ensure asset-management activities align with company standards, licensing requirements, and governance expectations.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to establish hardware and software standards.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of computers, mobile devices, accessories, and other technology equipment.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, assignment, return, and storage processes for IT assets.
• Manage vendor relationships, billing, contract renewals, and service expectations.
• Track software licenses, cloud services, and subscriptions to support compliance and appropriate utilization.
• Support contract, pricing, and purchasing negotiations with technology vendors.
• Monitor vendor performance and address issues that may affect service, cost, or business operations.

Qualifications

• Four to five years of experience in IT Asset Management or related IT operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift between tasks efficiently.
• Working knowledge of project-management principles.
• Customer-focused, positive, and flexible approach to support.
• Ability to adapt within a fast-changing technical environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using ITAM or ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or Jira Service Management.
• Familiarity with inventory-management systems or procurement platforms.
• Understanding of software-licensing models, including Microsoft, Adobe, and SaaS platforms.
• Experience managing vendor relationships or supporting contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cloud-based management tools.
• Experience supporting multi-site or distributed office environments.
• Experience with budget and resource planning.
• ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+, CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA Network+, Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), or a comparable certification.
