Truliant’s mission is to improve lives by putting our members first, providing great service and straightforward financial solutions. Our core values of Member Focus, Service, Guidance, Relationships, and Community define how we interact with members to fulfill our mission of improving lives and providing a foundation on which we conduct ourselves.
Our Promise to Our Teammates: Truliant strives to provide all teammates with an enjoyable place to work where they feel valued, empowered and rewarded for all that they do.
Why this role matters
At Truliant Federal Credit Union, our insurance team helps clients protect what matters most through responsive service, accurate policy support, and thoughtful follow up. As an Account Manager I, you’ll help clients manage their personal insurance policies, resolve service needs, and receive professional, timely support throughout the life of their coverage.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building trusted relationships, staying organized, and growing their knowledge and career in the insurance industry.
What you’ll do
In this role, you’ll support a designated group of personal insurance accounts while partnering with clients, carriers, and Insurance Agents. You’ll balance responsive service, policy updates, careful documentation, organized follow up, and opportunities to connect clients with additional coverage support.
Day to day, you’ll:
- Manage policy service requests from intake through completion, including binders, endorsements, coverage changes, cancellations, premium follow up, and requests for additional information.
- Keep clients, carriers, and agency partners informed through timely correspondence, organized follow up, and complete documentation of material conversations and policy activity.
- Identify potential coverage needs, increased limits, referrals, and cross sell opportunities, then connect clients with an Insurance Agent for guidance and next steps.
Beyond that, your work will include maintaining current knowledge of rating products and agency processes, participating in training and development, and assisting with projects that strengthen the overall client experience.
What you bring
We’re looking for someone who combines strong client service with accuracy, organization, and a genuine commitment to helping people. This role is a great fit if you communicate clearly, follow through on details, manage competing priorities, and stay focused on delivering timely, high quality insurance support.
Required Experience:
- 1+ years of insurance customer service experience, or equivalent financial services or credit union experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been acquired.
Required Skills:
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally to clients, carriers, Insurance Agents, and internal partners.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills, with the ability to track outstanding items and meet policy service deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple requests in a fast paced and complex environment while adjusting priorities when needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote, with the ability to learn and use insurance rating products and agency processes.
- Ability to document client and carrier conversations accurately, follow agency errors and omissions guidelines, and complete policy changes and service requests with care.
- A strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s internal and external members.
Education/Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- North Carolina Property & Casualty insurance license is required, or the exam must be passed within six weeks of attending the pre licensing program.
You should also be comfortable working independently within established procedures, following up consistently, handling general office responsibilities, and asking questions when a client’s needs require additional guidance.
What sets you apart
You don’t need to check every box, but here’s what will help you thrive in this role:
- Experience using the Vertafore AMS360 agency management system.
- Experience with personal lines policy servicing, carrier correspondence, insurance rating, referrals, or cross sell conversations.
- Familiarity with coverage changes, endorsements, binders, cancellations, premium collection, or suspense and follow up systems.
What you’ll get
We believe in supporting our team members both professionally and personally.
In this role, you can expect:
- Purpose driven work that helps Truliant clients protect what matters and move through insurance decisions with greater confidence.
- A collaborative environment where you’ll work with clients, carriers, Insurance Agents, and internal partners to provide consistent, responsive service.
- Opportunities to deepen your insurance knowledge through training, hands on policy experience, rating processes, and carrier relationships.
- A culture that values accuracy, follow through, professional care, and long term relationships with members and teammates.
- The chance to build a strong foundation in personal insurance account management while growing your career at Truliant Federal Credit Union.
