### About This Opportunity

Ericsson is looking for an AI Software & Data Engineering Developer to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. In this role, you will contribute to building new functionality as part of Ericsson's AI transformation within BNEW R&D, helping create scalable, secure, and data-driven AI solutions that improve R&D efficiency and enable customer deployments across RAN.

The RAN Reliability System in Customer Deployment Evolution team is a group of software developers and data scientists building AI solutions to increase R&D efficiency and support customer deployments. You will help transform ideas and prototypes into maintainable software products by combining strong engineering practices, AI/ML knowledge, and practical data engineering skills. We are looking for someone who is organized, curious, open to emerging technologies, and motivated to solve complex challenges collaboratively. This is a hybrid position with an expectation of approximately 60% in-office presence.

## What you will do:

• Develop AI solutions to scale and industrialize at the RAN level, transforming troubleshooting on a common foundation to scale from customer to design.
• Take technical ownership for the design, implementation, integration, verification, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled software solutions.
• Build data engineering capabilities, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, quality checks, metadata handling, reusable pipelines, and reliable processing of engineering data for AI and analytics use cases.
• Work with internal engineering data — such as logs, telemetry, test results, CI/CD results, trouble reports, and code review information — while respecting security, confidentiality, and access control requirements.
• Integrate AI solutions into software development workflows, including Git-based development, Gerrit/code review, continuous integration, automated testing, secure development practices, and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with developers, data scientists, architects, product owners, and R&D stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with Ericsson's ways of working.
• Support colleagues through mentorship, contribute to design reviews, and help the team adopt AI-assisted development and data-driven approaches responsibly.

### The Skills You Bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued.
• Approximately 6+ years of experience in software development, preferably in telecommunications software, with a background in cloud-native and/or custom software using containers, Kubernetes, Python, Java, shell scripting, and Linux environments.
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML into software workflows, including AI-assisted development, automated testing, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and domain-specific model adaptation.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, Git-based workflows, Gerrit/code review, automated verification, secure development, DevSecOps, and vulnerability management in large-scale R&D environments.
• Practical data engineering experience, including ingestion, transformation, validation, data quality, metadata, traceability, access control, reliable pipelines, and operational monitoring.
• Experience using engineering data from development, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and CI/CD to create AI-ready datasets and actionable insights.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and secure AI solutions and turn prototypes into reusable, well-supported software components.
• Experience contributing to technical direction and improving engineering practices across teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; familiarity with 5G NR, LTE RAN, or Cloud RAN is a strong asset.

Your Pay

The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is

Ottawa: $101,500. - $133,350.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time

Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, plus at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
