Your Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our growing Indirect Tax Services practice. As a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries, you will work closely with partners, colleagues, and tax authorities on complex indirect tax matters, helping organizations manage risk, maximize opportunities, and navigate an evolving legislative landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced indirect tax professional looking to take on a leadership role within a collaborative and entrepreneurial practice. This is for an existing vacancy where the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:

• Advise clients on a broad range of indirect tax matters, including GST/HST, QST, PST, Carbon Taxes, Luxury Tax, and other indirect taxes across Canadian jurisdictions
• Lead the research, analysis, and development of technical positions and practical solutions for complex indirect tax issues
• Prepare and review client correspondence, technical memoranda, presentations, ruling requests, and other tax advisory deliverables
• Manage indirect tax compliance and recovery engagements while identifying planning opportunities that create value for clients
• Represent clients and lead interactions with tax authorities in connection with audits, examinations, objections, appeals, voluntary disclosures, and interpretive matters
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to expand service offerings
• Collaborate with colleagues across Tax, Advisory, and Assurance practices to deliver integrated client solutions
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members while reviewing work for technical accuracy, completeness, and quality
• Support practice growth through business development initiatives, networking activities, proposal development, and thought leadership
• Monitor legislative and administrative developments affecting indirect taxes and communicate emerging implications to clients and internal teams

Your experience and education

• CPA designation, JD/LLB, or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset
• Completion of the CPA GST/HST In-Depth Tax Course is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience specializing in indirect taxes within a public accounting firm, law firm, industry, or government environment
• Strong technical knowledge of GST/HST, QST, provincial sales taxes, and emerging indirect tax regimes
• Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and provide practical, risk-based advice
• Demonstrated experience leading tax authority audits, disputes, objections, appeals, and voluntary disclosure matters
• Strong business development and relationship management skills
• Exceptional analytical, research, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing team members
• A collaborative leadership style and commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience
• Embraces and actively leverages AI, data analytics, and digital tools to improve productivity, enhance the quality of client deliverables, and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

The expected range of compensation for this role is $125,000 - $175,000
