Description
An investment firm is looking to appoint a Investment Director / Vice President to further expand its M&A execution capabilities, with a primary focus on Oil & Gas transactions across the CIS.
The position offers responsibility for managing transactions throughout the full deal lifecycle, from initial analysis and preparation of materials through execution and closing. The successful candidate will own key transaction workstreams, ensure rigorous analytical quality, and work closely with senior stakeholders, clients, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the full execution of M&A transactions within the Oil & Gas sector, from preparation through closing
- Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and transaction assessment, including review and final approval of key outputs
- Manage transaction teams, providing direction, quality control, and mentorship to Analysts and Associates
- Coordinate several active mandates simultaneously, managing timelines, resource allocation, deliverables, and interactions with clients and external advisors
- Support the successful completion of cross-border transactions, including applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
- Represent the firm at Board level within selected portfolio companies, contributing to strategic oversight and important business decisions
Key Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant M&A experience in investment banking, Big 4, in-house M&A, or corporate development, with significant experience in Oil & Gas
- Proven track record of successfully executed transactions
Mandatory: candidates must provide a detailed list of completed deals, including transaction size, type, geography, and a clear description of their individual role and responsibilities
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation capabilities, including the ability to perform sector-specific analysis
- Strong technical understanding of corporate finance and transaction structuring
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing multiple transaction workstreams in parallel
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
- CFA or equivalent professional qualification would be an advantage
- Full professional proficiency in Russian and English
