Why does this job exist and why is it critical?
Key responsibilities
Manage assigned strategic accounts and develop account plans to drive revenue growth.
Build relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, procurement teams and technical stakeholders.
Identify new business opportunities through customer engagement, account mapping and market intelligence.
Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet annual sales and billing targets.
Protect existing revenue by managing renewals, contract extensions and customer retention.
Position Maxis Enterprise solutions, including connectivity, SD-WAN, mobility, cloud, cybersecurity, IoT and managed services.
Lead proposals, quotations, tenders and commercial negotiations with internal solution and bid teams.
Coordinate with Product, Solution Sales, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Delivery and Customer Service teams.
Maintain accurate opportunity, forecast and account information in CRM and relevant reporting systems.
Monitor order delivery, service performance, billing and collection issues.
Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payments and maintain healthy account ageing.
Provide regular updates on pipeline, forecast, customer engagement and account risks.
Maintain compliance with Maxis policies, procurement requirements and business governance processes.
Key performance indicators
Achievement of annual sales, ACV, revenue and billing targets.
Growth of existing accounts and acquisition of new business.
Pipeline coverage and forecast accuracy.
Renewal and customer retention rate.
Contribution from non-connectivity and solution-based products.
Customer engagement and account-plan execution.
Collection performance and management of overdue accounts.
Timely and accurate CRM updates.
Candidate requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is an advantage.
At least seven - ten years of enterprise, ICT, telecommunications or solution-sales experience.
Experience managing government, statutory body, GLC or large enterprise accounts is preferred.
Good understanding of government procurement, tender processes and enterprise sales cycles.
Track record in meeting sales targets and developing large strategic accounts.
Working knowledge of connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity, IoT or managed ICT solutions.
Strong stakeholder management, presentation, negotiation and commercial skills.
Proficient in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Able to work independently while coordinating effectively across internal teams.
Strong ownership, integrity, resilience and results orientation.
Preferred profile
A proactive account manager who can both protect and grow existing accounts while hunting for new opportunities. The candidate should be commercially driven, comfortable managing complex stakeholders and capable of leading opportunities from initial engagement through proposal, closure, delivery and collection.
