Human Resource Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. They will have a broad knowledge of HR functions during the entire life cycle of the employee’s employment.

Responsibilities:

• Manages the onboarding process and documentation. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Process separations/status changes from organization in HRIS/Payroll system. 
• Manages HRIS/Payroll system including changes in access for employees 
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form. 
• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave administration. 
• Assist with payroll processing. Responsible for Direct Deposit, Rapid Cards and employee tax changes.  
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.  
• Support internal and external inquiries and requests related to Human Resources.
• Generates correspondence for employees as needed.  
• Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, time and attendance, benefits, and HRIS/Payroll system. 
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Assist in development and implementation of human resources policies.  
• Develop and maintain various logs and other record-keeping systems.
• Performs other HR generalist and clerical duties as assigned.

• Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, HRIS), data processing, HR and Payroll software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
• At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
• PHR a plus.
