About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Gas Networks team, delivering major gas infrastructure renewal projects across Victoria.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination and successful delivery of projects valued up to $10 million. Working closely with the Project Manager and Construction Manager, you will provide engineering support, coordinate delivery teams, and act as a key interface between the client and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale gas main and service renewal projects for major gas asset owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the engineering and delivery of gas network renewal projects.
- Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager throughout the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with clients, supervisors, subcontractors and field crews to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling and milestone management.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, budgets and program performance.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including work packs, methodologies, permits and quality records.
- Identify and manage project risks, opportunities and delivery constraints.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement with clients, authorities, landowners and project partners.
- Support procurement activities and subcontractor management.
- Work collaboratively with finance, estimating and project controls teams.
- Contribute to tender submissions and project planning activities.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS requirements and company standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience delivering gas network renewal projects or similar utility infrastructure works.
- Previous experience working with major gas asset owners.
- Experience delivering construction projects valued up to $10 million.
- Strong project coordination skills across multiple work fronts and geographically dispersed crews.
- Commercial awareness, including project forecasting and cost management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management systems.
Desirable
- Project Management qualifications.
- Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Construction Industry White Card.
