Job Description
Job Summary:
The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing and coordinating financial reporting and analysis activities for the German legal entities. In addition, the role provides operational office support to the local organization, ensuring smooth administrative processes and effective coordination between employees and management. The position acts as a key business partner to local management and the EMEA Finance organization, ensuring financial transparency, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
- Ensure accurate accounting records in accordance with US GAAP and German statutory requirements (HGB).
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities with shared service and corporate finance teams.
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable business insights.
- coordinate and submit payroll to with external payroll provider
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and oversee general ledger integrity
- Support tax filings and coordinate with external tax advisors
- Support local administrative, governance, banking, insurance, and office management activities.
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to improve financial performance.
- Support external and internal audits.
- Drive process improvements and standardization initiatives.
- Support ad hoc projects across Germany and the EMEA region
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in Financial Controlling, Finance, or Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and IFRS.
- Experience in a multinational manufacturing, technology, or industrial environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting + office admin lead and variance analysis.
- Experience with statutory reporting and local German accounting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, financial modeling).
- Experience working with SAP (preferred SAP S/4HANA).
- Knowledge of business intelligence/reporting tools or PowerBI.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting audits and tax-related processes.
