About Our Family
We are a busy, faith-centered family of six with four school-age children and a friendly German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd rescue dog. Both of us work full time outside the home, leaving early in the morning and returning in the evening, so we especially value having someone who can help create consistency, calm, and structure during those important after-school hours. Our Catholic Christian faith is an important part of our family life and shapes the values we prioritize as we raise our children.
Our kids are active,easy-going, and involved, with sports practices, school commitments, and after-school activities often keeping our calendar full. We value teaching our children responsibility and being contributing members of the household, so we are looking for someone who will naturally involve them in age-appropriate tasks rather than simply doing everything for them. We are also intentional about the food we eat, avoiding seed oils, food dyes, high-fructose corn syrup, and heavily processed foods whenever possible. One of our children has a dairy sensitivity, so we appreciate someone who is comfortable being thoughtful about ingredients and meal planning in order to provide an option that limits dairy or utilizes lactose-free ingredients.
Our home functions best with clear systems, steady communication, and someone who sees what needs to be done and confidently takes ownership. We appreciate warmth, reliability, initiative, and a steady presence, and we are ultimately hoping to find a long-term partner who becomes a trusted and an extension of our family team.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You are a detail-oriented self-starter who is capable of executing tasks when given limited direction and takes genuine pride in keeping a household running at its best. You are proactive, organized, and naturally think a few steps ahead. You communicate clearly and consistently, preferring to over-communicate rather than assume. You are punctual, reliable, and composed, even when managing the many moving pieces of a busy family morning or afternoon.
You bring a warm, patient presence to your work with children and have a natural ability to build trust, connection, and routine. You understand the difference between doing things for kids and doing things with them — and you embrace the latter. You encourage age-appropriate independence, responsibility, and participation while still bringing plenty of warmth and care. A background in education, tutoring, or supporting children who need extra assistance completing homework is a meaningful bonus, but what matters most is your ability to show up with a big heart, a calm head, and genuine investment in the family’s wellbeing.
You are comfortable working in a faith-centered home and either share or genuinely respect our values. You value structure (yet know how to be flexible when necessary), consistency, and clear expectations, and you bring a grounded, dependable presence to the role.
