To provide effective leadership and direction with a view to making the strategic vision of Technology Ireland a reality.  To manage relationships with members and other key stakeholders and to identify opportunities for growth and development that can bring added value to Technology Ireland and the tech sector.
 
Technology Ireland’s Senior Executive will provide the necessary expertise, energy and support to ensure that the key objectives of Technology Ireland, the Technology Ireland Board and Council, the Technology Ireland working groups and affiliate groups are identified and met through the implementation of appropriate action plans. To work closely with the Director in identifying opportunities and synergies across the association and in the broader environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To provide leadership and day-to-day management of Technology Ireland’s working groups and to identify opportunities to raise the profile and reputation of the technology sector and make recommendations accordingly.
 
Technology Ireland Strategy Delivery

• Develop and lead a work programme with the Director of Technology Ireland to deliver the strategic pillars for Technology Ireland, supporting Board members and strategic initiatives where identified.
• Develop and implement the annual work programme under the guidance and with strategic level support from the Director of Technology Ireland
• Manage and work collaboratively across the organisation on initiatives and projects as appropriate

• Monitoring & supporting Technology Ireland in the development of sector strategy and objectives;
• Implementing and delivering the strategy and objectives of Technology Ireland as set out by the board;
• Ensure compliance with the Ibec Trade Association Handbook.
• Driving various initiatives as and when required as agreed with the Director of Technology Ireland.

• Provide high level support to the Director in maintaining strategic oversight across commercial targets.
• Collecting membership subscriptions, identifying, and generating new membership opportunities
• Manage budgets effectively
• Management and articulate / communicate of members seeking on value proposition
• KAM for members of Technology Ireland

• Representing the industry to key stakeholders as agreed.
• Analysing, driving, and responding to policy developments in designated areas for the sector such as, legislative, regulatory and skills policy.
• Represent the tech industry and associated Ibec trade associations in conjunction with the Director of Technology Ireland.

• Building and maintaining effective relationships with senior executives in member companies.
• Deliver member services including events and networking as defined by the membership
• Managing media relations and take on the role of spokesperson on agreed activities and deputise on any other items where appropriate for the Director of Technology Ireland

• Deliver member services including meetings, events and networking as defined by the membership.
• Actively retain and recruit members of Technology Ireland year on year

• Work collaboratively through an integrated service delivery framework
• Work collaboratively in delivering general account management
• Work collaboratively across the organisation on initiatives and projects

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications, skills, and experience
 

• Hold a primary degree in a relevant discipline; additional relevant postgraduate/professional qualifications would be an advantage.
• Possess a good knowledge of the tech sector, policy and regulations and clear understanding and insight into the issues driving the sector.
• Ideally have at least 5 years relevant experience e.g., working in a representational, policy or legal capacity
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Excellent lobbying and networking skills
• Have a track-record of influencing key decision makers through advocacy and engagement, and a partnership-based approach to policy development
• Be committed to developing innovative models for engagement with members and to the development of new member services
• Demonstrate strong leadership capability and potential to develop further
• Be capable of analysing complex policy proposals and determining their impact on the technology industry. Be capable of translating this to cogent policy positions and communicating them effectively through various media.
• Ability to work under pressure; resilient and resourceful
• Be committed to developing innovative models for engagement with members and to the development of new member services
• Strong project management skills, team player - capable results orientated
