We are looking for a hands-on operations professional to join as a leader in our growing Last Mile Operations team. You'll be at the heart of the customer experience, ensuring packages move efficiently from fulfilment centres to customers' doorsteps. You'll support both under-the-roof and on-the-road operations to ensure operational excellence and drive continuous improvement.
This is not a "keep the lights on" position it's a "build the machine" role. You'll have an outsized impact, the chance to learn from and lead a world-class operations engine, and the opportunity to shape the future of last-mile e-commerce delivery in South Africa, requiring innovation, resilience, and local ingenuity.
You will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely launches of new programs and capabilities, while delivering consistent, high-quality operational outcomes for customers.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Launch and scale last-mile delivery operations in South Africa. • Own end-to-end delivery performance and customer experience, including on-
time delivery, first-attempt success rate, and concessions. • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing operations team by hiring and
coaching station leaders and front-line managers, while embedding a strong safety culture, operational standards, and continuous improvement practices.
• Drive cost-per-parcel efficiency and optimise network design decisions by partnering with Transportation, Finance, and Planning.
A Day in the Life
No two days will be the same, but responsibilities will include:
Deep-diving into network and station-level performance.
Addressing blockers from the previous day to drive immediate corrective actions and prioritise required interventions.
Workforce and capacity planning.
Partnering with cross-functional teams on tactical and strategic initiatives such as network expansion, program launches, and efficiency improvements.
Leading and coaching front-line operations teams, while contributing to weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or a related field.
• 2+ years of people management experience. • Experience communicating complex business concepts verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent. • 3+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or Lean
techniques. • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, transportation and logistics, or
fulfilment and distribution centres.
