The Configuration Management (CM) organization is responsible for transforming product requirements as well as engineering design intent into actionable product definition.

Through utilization of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) GTCC tool and Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) space, we are able to deliver on-time and quality product definition to supply chain functions globally. Gas Power (GP) organization’s customers are also partners and consumers of CM output.

The Senior Engineer – CCB Chair is a leadership board member of the Change Management team and responsible for evaluating high complexity change requests for and across Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator, Heat Recovery Steam Generation (HRSG), Balance of Plant (BOP) and Aeroderivative products. The objects subject to initial release and change consist of CAD models, parts, hardware & Unit BOMs, drawings and documents. Changes occur throughout the lifecycle of the products and projects that span across NPIs, New Unit and Services requisitions, and maintenance of As-Running configurations.

We are the Subject Matter and Systems Engineering Experts of the Change Control Process. We leverage our expertise in the review of change requests to ensure they are correctly explained, defined at the source, scoped and implemented in downstream tools and processes, while following official procedures and work instructions to help ensure quality in our Master Data.

We conduct impact analysis (cost, schedule, units, other organization, …) and mitigate potential risks in the change execution and implementation. We also facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to drive upfront involvement and acceptance of the change results.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• CCB Chair for high complexity changes – Review/approve Change Issues (CHGIs) from the PLM GTCC queue across a minimum of three technologies (GT, ST, GEN, HRSG, Aero, BOP) according to SW, conduct impact analysis to help ensure all affected items are considered, and the change is thoroughly implemented

• Serve as CCB Chair focal for Topping Cycle (GT & GEN) segment of the Systems Engineering Architecture with emphasis on Flange-to-Flange scope, coordinate resources in the execution of daily change management tasks aligned to the work scope, train and coach team members aligned to the segment

• Lead Daily Management for quality and on-time execution of PLM GTCC Change Issues (CHGIs) and Change Actions (CAs), which involves conducting daily meetings, utilizing dashboards to assess and present wing-to-wing status, assigning tasks to CCB team members, notifying and driving task completion by pending approvers, resolving issues and implementing actions to mitigate risks

• Owner of OTD and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for change execution

• Support Change Management Principal Engineer towards improving operational KPIs, process enhancement/harmonization and breakthrough objectives

• Engage in change process development and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in PALM tool

• Lead Technical Change Forum (TCF) meetings in reviewing proposed changes and analyzing impact, engage in Helpchat to provide guidance and answer questions raised by change requesters

• Lead/support change management training sessions for stakeholders and customers, develop training materials

• Define and lead ideas to simplify, improve and harmonize processes, always with global perspective

• Lead/support cross-functional business initiatives to increase productivity and eliminate escaping defects, engage in the development and testing of AI and automation tools

• Actively participates in continuous improvement (Lean) events when required, develop Standard Work, create and maintain quality documents, procedures and work instructions

• Drive upfront collaboration with stakeholders for P2V, NCR, NPI, RCA projects

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science
• Minimum 10 years' experience as Design Engineer and/or Systems Engineer
• Demonstrated organizational, facilitation and leadership skills
• Proven record of concurrently managing projects, monitoring progress and quality
• Clear thinking, open to innovative ideas and demonstrated experience in the implementation of new tools and processes

Desired Characteristics

• Demonstrated change management experience within Gas Power organization, proficient in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) GTCC tool
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with Design Engineering, Project Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain and Services Parts teams

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 - 188,800.00 USD Annual . The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.  

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus
