HR Intern

Takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented HR intern  to join our team in Cape Town Central Office

Role Purpose:

Provide operational and administrative support to the Engineering & Product HR team. This role is designed as a learning opportunity within our Graduate Programme, where the intern will assist with the employee lifecycle, data maintenance, and HR documentation, gaining hands-on exposure to human resources practices in a fast-paced, tech-driven retail environment.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

N6 Certificate in Human Resource Management

The skills we need:

• Computer Literacy
• Strong Attention to Detail: Ability to handle data and documentation with high accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Time management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) is essential.
• Data interpretation and presentation.

Key responsibilities:

• Administrative Support: Assist with end-to-end employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding preparation, offboarding documentation, and maintaining accurate personnel records.
• Data & Reporting Support: Help with the collection and verification of HR data, ensuring spreadsheets and systems (like Greenhouse) are up to date. Assist in preparing basic reports and presentations.
• Process Maintenance: Support the team in maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and filing systems, ensuring all documentation is compliant and easy to retrieve.
• Communication Liaison: Act as a helpful point of contact for routine employee HR queries, escalating complex issues to the People Practitioner.
• Project Support: Participate in and support ad-hoc engineering and HR projects by performing research, taking minutes, or coordinating meeting logistics.
