Finance Division | Real Estate and Entrepreneurship
Position Overview
This Graduate Assistant position is housed within the Finance Division and provides direct support to the Faculty Director of the TARCO Institute for Real Estate and Entrepreneurship. The role will advance Finance Division priorities, with a particular focus on real estate and entrepreneurship, through experiential learning, research, program development, and student engagement.
The Graduate Assistant will work with the Faculty Director on initiatives serving the Finance Division and the TARCO Institute. The position combines research, administrative, and student facing responsibilities and includes interaction with current and prospective students, alumni, faculty, and industry practitioners.
The role spans three categories: Research Assistant, Administrative Role, and Interactive Role serving current students, prospective students, and alumni.
Primary Areas of Support
- Develop experiential learning initiatives, exercises, and simulations in real estate, entrepreneurship, and finance.
- Conduct research for thought leadership content, applied studies, and related initiatives.
- Assist with TARCO Institute programs, events, and student engagement activities.
- Support selected Finance Division program and curriculum development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Experiential Learning and Curriculum Development
- Assist in developing experiential learning exercises, simulations, and applied learning initiatives related to real estate, entrepreneurship, and finance.
- Support program and curriculum development initiatives within the Finance Division.
- Research industry trends, leading practices, and emerging topics that may inform academic programming.
- Research and Thought Leadership Conduct market, industry, and academic research in real estate, entrepreneurship, finance, and related areas.
- Support research projects through data collection, financial modeling, analysis, synthesis, and clear documentation of findings.
- Assist in preparing thought leadership content, reports, articles, presentations, and studies.
- Use AI tools and data analysis techniques to strengthen research and analytical work.
Programs, Events, and Student Engagement
- Support the planning and execution of TARCO Institute programs, events, site visits, speaker engagements, and networking opportunities on campus and in the Boston area.
- Assist with event logistics, communications, participant coordination, and follow up activities.
- Engage with current and prospective students and support student focused initiatives.
- Assist with social media and promotional efforts that increase program visibility and participation.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience in real estate and entrepreneurship is ideal, along with relevant coursework in these areas.
- Strong financial modeling, research, data analysis, and writing skills.
- Proficiency with AI tools and an interest in their application to research and analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Social media skills to support event promotion and program visibility.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and engage professionally with students, faculty, alumni, and industry practitioners.
Hours and Work Arrangement
- The position totals 160 hours per academic year, or 80 hours per semester, aligned with the Babson academic calendar.
- Fall semester: August 31, 2026 through approximately mid-December 2026
- Spring semester: January 19, 2027 through April 28, 2027
Work will be completed through a combination of in person and remote assignments, depending on the task. In person responsibilities may include programs and events held on campus and in the Boston area.
Supervision
The Graduate Assistant will work directly with and provide support to the Faculty Director of the TARCO Institute for Real Estate and Entrepreneurship within the Finance Division. Supervision will include weekly meetings, held in person or remotely depending on current priorities, along with regular email communication to review progress, establish priorities, and provide feedback.
