What’s on offer?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Safety Advisor to join our established Northern Region Infrastructure Services business. Reporting directly to the National/Regional Safety Manager, you will play a key role in supporting site teams , Managers and other key stakeholders across the North Queensland Region, including Townsville, Mackay, and Gladstone.

Your Contribution

• Attend pre-starts and deliver engaging toolbox talks.
• Conduct thorough workplace risk assessments, site inspections and site inductions.
• Participate in safety audits, inspections and prepare accurate safety statistics reporting.
• Provide safety input during tender reviews to ensure bids are compliant and realistic.
• Lead incident investigations including root cause analysis, using methodologies like ICAM.
• Develop and update emergency response plans, Injury management processes and deliver high-quality training on safety, plant and equipment.

How will you connect to the role?

• Minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety.
• Proven experience in safety roles on construction projects (or similar high-risk environments).
• Working knowledge of ICAM or TapRoot.
• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills – you build rapport easily with those around you.
• Demonstrated experience implementing behaviour-based safety programs.
• Current White Card, valid drivers licence, and willingness to travel to site as required across Northern Region Queensland.

Ideally, your approach to safety will be one of supporting, coaching and mentoring the business, and you will be flexible, adaptable and possess strong communication skills.  You will have an ability to build and maintain relationships across all divisions and levels and possess knowledge of road maintenance and asphalt.
