Description
- Responsible for everyday operation of the County Citizen Center.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the center.
- Participates in maintaining all necessary records in an up to date manner, according to program policies and procedures.
- Assure and arrange for the care and cleaning of the senior center.
- Maintain self in a manner which will not bring discredit upon the center or the Lake Cumberland Area Development District (LCADD).
- Operate agency equipment and vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner, as assigned.
- Work with the center aide in the development of volunteer programs.
- Attend and participate in training and meetings when required.
- Assure maintenance and understanding of regulations, policies and procedures of the LCADD and aging programs
- Assure training of all volunteers and staff.
- Assure/arrange for the care of the aging program vehicles, including keeping a log of vehicle use.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Additional related work experience is desired.
- Certifications as required by state and federal regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of the applicable federal and state laws and regulations relevant to food preparation and handling.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations relevant to provisions of supportive services.
- LCADD Policies and Procedures for the center and personnel.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in record keeping.
- Ability to operate general office equipment (calculator, computer, copier) daily.
- Ability to relate well with the elderly.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officers, council members, subcontractors and the general public.
- Instructions: Somewhat general; many aspects of the work are covered specifically and are regulatory, but also must use own judgment.
- Processes: Frequently required to refine existing work methods and develop new techniques, concepts, or programs within established limits or policies.

- Tools, Equipment and Vehicles Used: Basic office equipment; must use vehicle as a job requirement.
- Must operate mini-bus/van; Assist participants in boarding and un-boarding van (where needed).
- Must be able to lift, carry boxes/cartons weighing up to 50 pounds including placing in and removing from seat or cargo space of van or office (commodities).
Certification Requirements: CPR, First-Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and others as required by state and federal regulations. Also, all employees associated with handling of food preparation shall have Hepatitis A vaccination with the cost provided by the LCADD.
