What you'll do...
Role summary:Walmart is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software solutions for small to large projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, develop code, perform testing, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications. The position requires technical expertise in coding, debugging, and continuous integration, along with the ability to support and guide junior engineers. The successful candidate will drive timely project completion while maintaining alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
About the team:
The Walmart Catalog Engineering team focuses on developing scalable microservices and enhancing platform integrations to improve Seller and supplier experiences. The team independently addresses critical software and production challenges, contributing to key projects within a leading global retailer. Operating in a dynamic environment, members collaborate closely with an emphasis on technical excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining robust catalog services that support business transformation and deliver measurable value across Walmart’s extensive ecosystem. The team prioritizes best practices, iterative development, and advanced technologies to achieve strategic objectives.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with product, project, business, and user experience teams to design high-level solutions for small to medium projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans.
- Translate project requirements into technical solutions, develop code, and conduct unit testing to ensure quality delivery.
- Manage complex projects by researching alternatives and ensuring sustainable, scalable, and secure implementations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to users and junior engineers, including offshore associates.
- Develop automation scripts and implement telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and delivery processes.
- Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and analyze metrics to optimize system reliability.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Strong technical acumen with experience in API design, platform development, and component services.
- Proficiency in debugging, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Ability to develop and deliver scoped features using iterative and incremental development methodologies.
- Experience in writing documentation-based code and implementing telemetry features.
- Skilled in root cause analysis and troubleshooting production and business issues.
- Familiarity with emerging tools, frameworks, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and support project delivery.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
