Your opportunity
Behind every positive employee experience is a team of people professionals helping leaders navigate growth, change and the challenges that come with managing people well. As an HR Business Partner, you will partner closely with leaders across a diverse national corporate services enabling portfolio, providing advice and hands-on support to deliver positive outcomes and build organisational capability.
Reporting to the HR Partnering Lead, this role offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your business partnering or HR generalist skills and experience while working across a variety of people initiatives and workforce matters. You will support leaders with employee relations, performance management, organisational design, workforce change, job analysis and job design, while contributing to engagement, retention and business improvement initiatives.
Working alongside experienced HR Business Partners and the employee relations team you will gain exposure to both strategic and operational people activities, making this an ideal opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor who is ready to take the next step towards a HR Business Partner career.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide trusted HR advice and support to leaders across the portfolio.
- Partner with the HR Lead to deliver people initiatives and workforce solutions aligned to business priorities.
- Support organisational design activities including job analysis, job evaluation and position design.
- Assist and support employee relations matters including grievances, workplace concerns and policy interpretation.
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management, employee development and workforce planning.
- Prepare HR documentation including consultation materials, letters, position descriptions and reporting.
- Build productive stakeholder relationships and confidently manage competing priorities and timelines.
- Support the delivery of engagement, retention and capability-building initiatives across the portfolio.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and broader People & Culture priorities.
Requirements for success
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in an HR Advisor, Senior HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
- Exposure to organisational change, restructures, workforce planning or organisational design activities.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters including performance management and grievances.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, modern awards and HR best practice.
- Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at varying levels across the organisation.
- High level interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and professional judgement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to facilitate conversations and negotiate outcomes.
- Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn, grow and contribute within a collaborative team environment.
