Nexus Family Healing is looking to hire a Vice President of Operations - Community-Based Services to join our fantastic team!

Pay and Schedule:

  • Full-time, salaried exempt position
  • Hybrid from Minnesota opportunity with frequent travel
  • Starting salary range: $190,000-205,000 annually

Position Summary: The Vice President of Operations - Community-Based Services provides high-level strategic leadership and operational oversight to assigned Nexus agencies. In close collaboration with agency Executive Directors, this role develops and executes strategies that advance organizational goals, drive innovation, and ensure service excellence. The VP maintains deep knowledge of each agency’s programs, operations, and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with Nexus’s clinical and operational priorities. This position is accountable for fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and fiscal responsibility. By directly supervising Executive Directors, the VP ensures consistent execution of strategic initiatives that promote sustainability, measurable outcomes, and long-term success for clients, families, and the organization. As a key member of the leadership team, the VP translates enterprise strategy into actionable plans and supports the seamless integration of services across the Nexus network.


Primary responsibilities:


Executive Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Provide leadership and oversight to Executive Directors and agency leadership teams across multiple service lines.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture aligned with Nexus values.
  • Drive accountability for operational, financial, strategic, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Develop leadership talent through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.

Strategic Planning & Business Performance

  • Partner with organizational leaders to develop and execute strategic plans that advance Nexus's mission and goals.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budget development, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
  • Support organizational growth initiatives, new program development, service expansion, and strategic partnerships.
  • Collaborate across departments to implement system-wide initiatives and best practices.

Risk Management, Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure agencies meet licensing, accreditation, regulatory, contractual, and grant requirements.
  • Monitor performance through data-driven reporting and continuous improvement practices focused on quality, safety, employee experience, and client outcomes.
  • Partner with agency leaders to identify, mitigate, and manage operational and organizational risks.

Community Engagement & Philanthropic Stewardship

  • Represent Nexus within communities, building and strengthening key stakeholder relationships and partnerships.
  • Support Executive Directors in board engagement, fundraising efforts, community advocacy, and organizational visibility.
  • Promote a culture of philanthropy, collaboration, and community impact across the organization.

Organizational Leadership

  • Lead and participate in enterprise-wide initiatives, special projects, and cross-functional efforts that support organizational success.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to Executive Directors, senior leadership, and Home Office teams.

Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or other Clinical/Human Services related field with licensing preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in organizations serving children/adolescents and families
  • Minimum of 8 years in the mental health, behavioral health, or healthcare environment
  • Minimum of 5 years in upper management positions with demonstrated expertise in operational, program, and clinical management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directly working with community-based programs
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Applicable licensure in a human service or clinical related field preferred
  • Business/leadership development certificate preferred
  • 10+ years operational leadership experience in a mental health related field
