Accounting Manager

Job Description:

Serve as the steward of the Division's financial control environment, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with ITW policies and GAAP, and sustainable accounting processes.

Lead the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for the Division.

Manage and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement and professional growth.

Provide financial leadership for month-end close, balance sheet integrity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.

Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements, ensuring the integrity of both ITW enterprise reporting and internal StampTech management reporting while providing analysis and insights that drive business performance and informed decision-making.

Partner closely with Operations Controller to complete monthly variance analysis of financial and operational performance compared to Outlook, Annual Plan, and prior year results, partnering with Operations, Commercial, and Finance leadership to understand business drivers, communicate insights, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Partner with the Operations Controller and Commercial Finance Manager to ensure consistency between management reporting, financial reporting (FRIDA), forecasting processes, and business performance metrics.

Support monthly Outlooks, Annual Plans, and Long-Range Plans through accurate financial reporting, accounting insights, variance analysis, and stewardship of key financial assumptions.

Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to identify opportunities for productivity improvements, cost reduction, and working capital optimization.

Lead inventory accounting, inventory grading, standard cost management, cost roll activities, physical inventory processes, and inventory control initiatives.

Support capital expenditure approval, tracking, and post-investment analysis.

Lead internal and external audit activities and serve as a steward of financial control compliance.

Drive process simplification and standardization across accounting activities, leveraging 80/20 principles to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Develop and enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to support the Division's growth and operational objectives.

Develop accounting and finance talent through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, cross-training, and leadership development initiatives that strengthen organizational capability and business continuity, while establishing the Accounting Manager role as a key leadership development position for future enterprise finance and operational leadership opportunities.

Champion ITW Toolbox methodologies and support operational excellence initiatives across the organization.
