Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Outreach Manager to lead the outreach and engagement for a large-scale residential energy efficiency program in southern New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of outreach experience and a strong understanding of community engagement and energy efficiency for residential sectors. This role requires significant experience in outreach and engagement, and managing campaigns, with diverse stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Embrace, operate, and lead within the core values.
- Lead the outreach and engagement for a large-scale residential energy efficiency program in New Jersey.
- Develop and implement wide-reaching campaigns to maximize customer acquisition into the program.
- Support eligible households in New Jersey to educate them on the values, benefits, and expectations of the program, and to facilitate entry into the program.
- Ability to create rapport with residential owners and/or renters.
- Provide direct supervision, outreach support, and training to a team of 8-10 outreach specialists.
- Develop outreach strategy to ensure alignment with program and client needs, and to generate the necessary lead volume for the program.
- Cultivate community partnerships to increase event opportunities and generate trusted leads for the program.
- Develop outreach processes and provide training and onboarding.
- Maintain and review outreach data and track progress vs. metrics to program management on a regular basis.
- Develop weekly reports and presentations for internal and client reporting.
- Identify and implement opportunities for program outreach improvement.
- Serve as a resource for program and department team members on comprehensive and detailed assignments, including outreach activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including operations and marketing, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in outreach and engagement, preferably in the energy efficiency sector.
- Minimum 1-3 years leading a team, with demonstrated experience providing onboarding, training, mentorship and holding team members accountable to stated goals.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale outreach campaigns and projects successfully.
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles, practices, and technologies for residential homes.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent client interfacing skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in community outreach and engagement in New Jersey.
- A strong existing relationship with a network of southern New Jersey based stakeholders in one or more of the following categories is strongly preferred:
- Housing
- Community Services
- Energy Efficiency
- Environmental justice.
Travel Requirements:
- Willing to travel (within southern New Jersey) up to 50%.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

A team member may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. Walker-Miller Energy Services offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Compensation Range: $59,915.63-$78,979.69 annually
