Senior Tax Accountant

The Senior Tax Accountant at TiP Excise, LLC - Fuel Excise Recovery is responsible for managing and overseeing all tax-related activities for the organization. Their role chiefly revolves around ensuring the company's compliance with the relevant tax laws, preparation, and submission of tax returns and reports, strategic tax planning, and liaising with tax authorities and vendors. Key Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate tax audits and prepare responses to notices from tax authorities. Maintain knowledge of current tax laws and industry trends to accurately assess the tax implications for the company and make recommendations for tax-effective strategies. Meticulously prepare and file all federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring timely submission and payment of all required taxes. Conduct tax research and scenario analysis, using these insights to develop future tax strategies and financial forecasts. Develop and implement improved tax-related processes within the accounting team, enhancing overall productivity and efficiency. Gather and provide appropriate audit sampling for internal/external audits and reviews. Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations related to tax, providing necessary recommendations to management for any actionable changes required. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be given preference. Minimum of five years relevant experience in corporate taxation, with proven knowledge of federal and state tax laws. Expertise in financial software and database systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with different departments and external entities.
