Job Summary:

Bucknell University’s Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning August 1, 2027, specializing in current heterodox approaches. The position is open to candidates in any research field, with particular interest in scholars working in emerging areas that would expand the department’s curriculum, including the economics of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, ecological economics, complexity economics, and macroeconomics.

Job Duties:

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics by the start of the appointment. Candidates in the final stages of completing their Ph.D. will be considered. Applicants should demonstrate expertise in heterodox economics, excellence in undergraduate teaching, and the potential for a strong program of scholarship.

The successful candidate will teach five courses per year, including intermediate macroeconomics and electives from a heterodox perspective, and will advise students as well as participate in departmental, university, or professional service. Additional teaching may include introductory economics, and courses

in the college core curriculum, including interdisciplinary courses.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship in accordance with University policy.
