The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Research Associate to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. What You Need to Know
Salary Range: $45,000.00

Other Requirements and Factors: This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
Responsibilities:
Research
Design protocol for Lab procedure projects including, but not limited to, cell isolation using techniques such as cell culture, Western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, ELISA, immunocytochemistry/histochemistry and flow cytometry. Prepares reagents.
Supervise undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
Administrative
Lab Duties: General laboratory duties such as research equipment maintenance and operation, and maintaining a safe working environment. Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis.
Documentation: Oversees and maintains an accurate inventory of laboratory animals and supplies
Participate in general lab organization and maintenance.
Ordering supplies and managing inventory, and performing other duties as assigned.
Animal Research
Maintenance of animal care
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
Appropriate bachelor’s degree
Two years of relevant professional experience. (Master’s degree is equivalent to two years of experience)
Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree in biological/life science
Two or more years of experience in a cancer biology/molecular biology laboratory
Experience in techniques such as cell isolation, Western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, ELISA, and maintenance of animal care etc.
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Interest in learning new techniques
Highly motivated and organized
- Strong desire and demonstrated ability to advance scientific projects
Excellent work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and ability to design, plan, conduct and coordinate experiments in support of various research projects. Ability to evaluate, select, and apply standard research techniques and data collection.
