Employee Benefits Account Executive
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Benefits Account Executive to join a dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and grow a book of business, serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee benefits, particularly in self-funded and level-funded plans, and will excel in building and maintaining client relationships. Compensation Package
- Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experience.
- First-year salary is set. From the second year onward, compensation will transition to a commission-based structure tied to the size of the book of business.

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain relationships with an existing book of business, ranging from mid-sized to large accounts (50-500 lives).
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic recommendations and tailored solutions for their employee benefits needs.
- Evaluate current coverage, identify potential gaps, and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with carriers, TPAs, PBMs, stop-loss vendors, and other benefit partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Handle self-funded and level-funded plans, including stop-loss coverage, claims funding, plan document requirements, renewals, claims reporting, and surplus refund provisions.
- Present to clients, negotiate with carriers, and coordinate pre-renewal processes.
- Cross-sell opportunities within the existing book of business and collaborate with producers on commercial accounts to identify potential clients.
- Occasionally travel to present to clients and attend meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Licenses: Active Life & Health (L&H) license in Texas is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee benefits, with a strong focus on self-funded and level-funded plans.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software such as ImageRight, BenefitPoint, and Employee Navigator.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of self-funded and level-funded plans, including financial arrangements, claims reporting, and renewal processes.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to effectively present complex concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Work Environment: Hybrid work model with initial in-office training. Flexible schedule based on client needs, with potential for remote work on certain days.
