About the role:

The Training and Development Specialist I supports production readiness by facilitating new-hire onboarding, developing engaging learning solutions, and coordinating staffing activities. This role partners with production leaders, production-floor employees, trainers, support functions, and contracting agencies to ensure employees receive consistent, timely, and effective training. The Specialist applies established instructional-design practices and works with fellow team members to deliver training solutions that meet business, Quality System, and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate new-hire onboarding programs for production employees, including classroom instruction, demonstrations, guided practice, learner support, and program logistics
  • Create, revise, and maintain instructor-led, digital, and blended learning content, including presentations, facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, eLearning modules, and other training resources
  • Develop clear, objective knowledge assessments that measure learner understanding and support documented training-effectiveness requirements
  • Design hands-on learning activities, simulations, demonstrations, practice exercises, and skills-based experiences that prepare learners to transition safely and effectively to the production floor
  • Coordinate approved headcount requests by reviewing staffing needs, maintaining accurate request and roster information, communicating class capacity, and monitoring candidate status through onboarding
  • Serve as a primary communication link among contracting agencies, production leaders, hiring partners, facilitators, and other stakeholders to resolve scheduling, placement, attendance, and onboarding issues
  • Build strong working relationships with production-floor teams; observe work processes, gather feedback, identify training needs, and align learning content with actual job requirements
  • Partner with supervisors, production coordinators, certified trainers, Quality, Engineering, EHS, Human Resources, and other subject-matter experts to validate training content and ensure requirements are accurately represented
  • Evaluate learner and stakeholder feedback, assessment results, onboarding outcomes, and operational needs to recommend improvements to training content and delivery
  • Maintain training materials, records, trackers, and related documentation in accordance with established procedures, document-control practices, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support training-related projects, corrective and preventive actions, continuous-improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, training and development, instructional design, human resources, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Experience facilitating instructor-led training, onboarding, workshops, and/or group learning activities
  • Experience creating presentations, facilitator resources, job aids, eLearning, knowledge assessments, and hands-on learning activities
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on-site and spend time in classroom, office, and production-floor environments

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Working knowledge of Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate
  • Experience supporting new-hire onboarding and training in a manufacturing, medical-device, or other regulated environment
  • Experience coordinating contingent-labor staffing, headcount requests, candidate rosters, or contracting-agency communications
  • Experience working directly with production teams and translating operational requirements into practical learning solutions
  • Experience with a learning management system, training-record system, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and basic data tracking or reporting tools

Maximum Salary: $96900

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
