Position Summary
The Country Manager – Indonesia will lead FMC’s business operations in Indonesia, with full P&L responsibility and accountability for sales, marketing, business development, and overall commercial performance. The role will work through a matrix with R&D, Regulatory, Finance, and HRBP teams to deliver business objectives.
The Country Manager will also champion FMC’s core values of Integrity, Safety, Sustainability, Respect for People, Agility, and Customer Centricity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the Long Range Plan (LRP) and annual Country Strategic Plan to deliver revenue and profit targets.
Monitor market and competitive dynamics and drive appropriate commercial actions, including pricing strategies.
Manage working capital through effective S&OP, inventory, credit, and collections management.
Lead and develop the Indonesian team, building strong sales, marketing, and account management capabilities.
Develop the business development roadmap, including product registration, distribution strategy, and partner development.
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, institutional accounts, plantations, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
Lead distributor assessment, selection, and commercial negotiations.
Develop and execute Go-To-Market strategies, product launches, and channel expansion plans aligned with FMC’s growth objectives.
Job Dimension
Decision-Making: Lead country-level commercial strategy, organizational, and business development decisions.
Financial Responsibility: Deliver Indonesian business targets, profitability, and cost-effective operations.
Geographic Scope: Oversee FMC operations across Indonesia, including Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java, and Bali/Nusa Tenggara.
Key Stakeholders:
Internal: Indonesia Functional Leaders and employees, ASEAN Functional Heads, and Indonesia Operations Team.
External: Distributors, retailers, FMC business partners, vendors, community leaders, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in a relevant industry, preferably fertilizers, crop protection, or seeds.
Strong track record in agricultural business development, sales, and marketing, with established distributor networks in Indonesia.
Strong understanding of the Indonesian agricultural market, including regulatory requirements and local dynamics.
Proven experience managing P&L, leading cross-functional teams, and aligning business strategies with market needs.
Strong leadership, people development, commercial, financial, and project management capabilities.
Fluency in English is mandatory; Bahasa Indonesia preferred.
Experience working effectively in multicultural environments and promoting diversity and inclusion.
