Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders, coordinating contractors, and complying with all applicable safety and regulatory standards. The technician operates heavy machinery and company vehicles safely, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with team members to maintain high-quality standards. This position requires adherence to company policies and a commitment to delivering reliable facility services that support operational excellence.
About the team:
The Exterior Services team is dedicated to maintaining Walmart’s outdoor spaces through expert landscape upkeep and irrigation repairs. This team manages projects, ensures adherence to safety and environmental standards, and coordinates resources to support facility needs efficiently. Collaborating with internal and external partners, members deliver quality service, resolve issues, and implement improvements that enhance sustainability and cost-effectiveness. What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment, documenting signs of wear and recommending repairs or replacements.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate parts ordering, track expenses, submit warranty claims, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Identify hazards and unsafe conditions, taking corrective actions or escalating as needed.
- Collaborate with teams to implement process improvements and support business priorities.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures following established schedules and safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with certification requirements.
- Strong skills in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and EPA standards to ensure compliance and quality work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
