Job Description:

University of Northern Iowa seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Management position, starting August of 2027.  Responsibilities include teaching courses for Business Analytics and Management Information Systems (MIS) majors in-person and online. Teaching assignments include but are not limited to Introduction to Information Systems, Programming, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Database Management, Systems Analysis and Design, and other related topics and courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Be an active citizen in the campus community, serve on university committees, conduct scholarly research, and assist with student activities. 

 

Education Requirements:

Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Management Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems or a closely related field.

 

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. must be from an AACSB-accredited institution; demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate or graduate level courses in MIS/Business Analytics by education, teaching evaluations, or interview; and established record of scholarship as demonstrated by a peer reviewed publication and/or conference presentation.

 

The Wilson College of Business (business.uni.edu) is AACSB-accredited with separate accounting accreditation and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in five departments (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing & Entrepreneurship) along with MBA and MAcc degrees. The Management Department is home to five majors: Business Analytics (with two emphases – Decision Support and Artificial Intelligence), Management Information Systems, Management (with two emphases – Business Administration and Organizational Leadership), Human Resource Management, and Supply Chain Management. Faculty in the Management Department are intellectually curious, actively engaged in meaningful scholarship, and seek to be exceptional teachers. The department provides a supportive environment for faculty development, growth, and professional success.
