Commercial Lines Account Manager (Small Business)

Job Summary

Seeking a highly organized and client-focused Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a small business insurance team. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with small business clients while ensuring their commercial insurance needs are met with care and attention to detail. This position requires managing accounts, providing excellent customer service, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver tailored insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of small business clients, responding promptly to inquiries and providing proactive account management.
• Provide coverage recommendations tailored to clients' evolving needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
• Process new and renewal policy submissions, endorsements, and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
• Analyze coverage options, review policy documents, and explain terms and conditions clearly.
• Partner with underwriters to secure competitive insurance quotes and negotiate terms on behalf of clients.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in the agency management system.
• Assist clients with claims filing and advocate on their behalf to ensure seamless resolution.
• Identify opportunities for upselling additional products and services aligned with clients' business objectives.
• Stay informed about market trends, insurance products, and relevant industry updates.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines insurance or account management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance concepts, policies, and underwriting processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in agency management systems and tools.
• A self-starter mindset with exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Certification in insurance designations such as CIC, CISR, or CPCU is a plus but not required.
• Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.
