Description
Columbus east side drivers: dedicated food freight on familiar lanes, preloaded trailers, and home every week.
Fresh out of CDL school and nobody calls you back? This account trains new drivers.
What you earn
- $1,400 average weekly gross
- $0.60 per mile to start, up to $0.70 with experience
- $25 stop pay
- $850 a week while you train
- Home weekly for your 34 hour reset
The route
Dry van loads for one food customer. About 90% of runs stay between Ohio, Illinois and Iowa, with an occasional trip to Georgia. Preloaded trailers and drop and hook at delivery. About 2,200 miles a week, day and night dispatches, some weekend work.
Straight answers for new drivers
- “Will I learn the same lanes?” Yes. This is dedicated, so you see the same customers again and again.
- “Where is orientation?” In Columbus, close to home.
- “Does my CDL school count?” If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
From application to your own truck
After you apply, a recruiter calls to look over your license and record with you. Orientation in Columbus takes 2 days at most and pays $300 once you are hired. Then 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, trip planning, logs and fueling. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck.
Who can apply
- Class A CDL, 21 or older
- 120 hour school certificate, or 6 months of recent experience
- No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no DUI/DWI in 10
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (hair and urine)
- Live within 80 miles of Columbus
After your first 30 days: health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) and stock purchase plan, paid vacation, and an online college degree at no cost for you and a family member.
Reynoldsburg, Whitehall, Pickerington and Newark drivers, apply now.
We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome all qualified drivers.
