What you'll do...
Portfolio and Project Delivery: Oversees a portfolio of concurrent remodel and adaptation projects, ensuring each is delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives and brand standardsDevelops and manages project scopes of work by translating business requirements into actionable design and construction plans, balancing operational needs with capital constraints. Establishes and maintains portfolio-level schedules and budgets, tracking milestones, identifying cross-project dependencies, and reallocating resources as priorities shift.
Ensures strict adherence to approved project budgets by tracking spend, identifying variances early, providing justification for overages, and recommending value-engineering alternatives.
Design Management and Regulatory Compliance: Leads the design strategy for existing portfolio projects, translating store operations and merchandising requirements into feasible architectural and engineering solutions. Directs the entitlement and permitting process for remodel projects, developing compliance strategies for local and state jurisdictions and resolving regulatory challenges. Reviews and approves design documents, construction drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with Walmart standards, building codes, and ADA requirements. Identifies design complexities unique to existing structures (for example, structural limitations, operational continuity during construction, phased occupancy) and develops mitigation plans. Stakeholder Coordination and Communication: Leads and coordinates cross-functional teams, including internal partners (for example, Store Operations, Space Planning, Merchandising, Facilities) and external partners (architects, engineers, general contractors, public affairs, legal) to drive aligned execution. Communicates project status, risks, and design recommendations to senior leadership, providing clear options and data-driven recommendations. Serves as the escalation point for design and permitting issues, resolving conflicts between stakeholder requirements and project constraints. Represents the Realty Project Management function in capital planning discussions, contributing portfolio-level insights to investment prioritization. Team Development and Process Improvement: Mentors and develops Manager-level (H) project management staff, providing guidance on design coordination, vendor management, and stakeholder navigation. Identifies and implements process improvements to increase project delivery efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve quality outcomes across the portfolio. Establishes and maintains standardized project governance practices, including templates, reporting cadences, and quality checkpoints Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
